My name is Mikael Glännström and I was born in 1977, which now makes me 33 years old! I am currently a master student in psychology topic prevention science at Örebro University. I will graduate in the summer of 2011, if things go as planned. My main interests as a psychology researcher are “anxiety problems”, and more specifically anxiety treatments and risk factors. I am also very interested in well-being and evaluation of well-being. You can read more about my research here, and more about psychology here.

When I do not study or do research, I enjoy to spend time with fiance and friends. I love watching movies and I also play some floorball, which is a popular sport in Sweden. Besides my common interests I start up many projects because of my creative and chaotic brain. Most projects, I do not end, but some keeps going. For example, I am writing a book about anxiety self-help. I also write some fiction, like When I was younger, I was afraid of the world. Now, I am more curious!

I am a buddhist and green party member, which pretty much sums up my ideals. I strongly believe in compassion, discipline and rationality, as core principles and “traits”. Another “fun” fact about me, is that I have had social anxiety disorder and panic disorder for seven years. Fortunately, I can live a normal life today, and am currently anxiety free. Read more about my anxiety here.

I have been blogging for five years (my old blog can be found at but is in swedish), and blogging is therapeutic for me, but also a way to communicate and get in contact with new people. Feel free to contact me at:
